Belia dan Sosialisasi: Tingkahlaku Relatif dan Perspektif Terhadap Media Baru
Abstract
Artikel ini mengupas isu belia terpinggir dan proses sosialisasi yang menghasilkan tingkahlaku dan perspektif relatif belia semasa berhadapan dengan media baru. Revolusi 4.0 yang dibahas oleh Klaus Schwab menganalisis bagaimana kemajuan teknologi dan masyarakat boleh saling hidup bersama-sama kerana kepantasan kemajuan teknologi ini mendesak masyarakat berubah dari segi saiz, kelajuan dan skop. Persoalannya adakah belia dan proses sosialisasi yang berbeza dan pelbagai berupaya menyediakan golongan belia dengan cabaran revolusi teknologi dan penggunaan media baru? Potensi kebaikan dan keburukan dilihat seimbang dan proses konstruksi sosial diperlukan sebagai persediaan menjadikan belia lebih celik teknologi serta berintegriti dalam melakukan urusan harian dan kepenggunaan media baru. Teori ‘relational’, teori tingkah laku relatif dan konsep sosialisasi digunakan dalam menilai tingkahlaku belia terpinggir dibeberapa kawasan luar bandar dan bandar. Teknik temubual kumpulan fokus bersama lima kumpulan belia terpinggir telah dijalankan dengan penyertaan sukarela responden dan pemilihan sampel bertujuan dilakukan dalam memilih belia lingkungan usia 15 hingga 24 tahun. Hasil kajian menunjukkan corak tingkahlaku belia terpinggir yang skeptikal terhadap penggunaan media baru. Penjelasan kepada sikap relatif ini adalah disebabkan proses sosialisasi, kelas, spatial, pendedahan dan tahap pendidikan yang menjadikan tingkah laku dan perspektif belia terpinggir berbeza dengan konsep Barat mengenai belia.
