Kemahiran Interpersonal Guru dan Hubungan dengan Pencapaian Akademik Pelajar (Interpersonal Teacher Skill and It’s Relationship with Students’ Academic Achievement)

Abstract


This study examined the relationship between teachers’ interpersonal skill and academic achievement of gifted students. A quantitative study using a survey method to collect data. The study involved four Mara Science Junior Colleges (MSJC) in the state of Pahang with 226 students involved as respondents. There are eight types of interpersonal skills teacher suggested by the particular model. Descriptive analysis (mean) indicated that the interpersonal skill of teachers was moderate. The correlation test showed that there was no significant relationship between teachers’ interpersonal skill with student academic achievement. However, ANOVA analysis showed that there were significant differences for teachers’ interpersonal skill between MSJCs involved.The study suggested that teachers should apply the interpersonal skills for an improvement of their teaching and learning activities. In gifted student context, the application should take into account of their learning style and source of intrinsics motivation
