Focus and Scope

The bilingual (English - Malay) Geografia-Malaysian Journal of Society and Space (GMJSS) is an international, multidisciplinary journal jointly published 4 times per year in February, May, August and November (since 2017) by UKM Press. The GMJSS was formerly known as Jurnal Ilmu Alam, a yearly publication, which was first published in May 1972 by the Department of Geography, UKM. GMJSS strive to continue the long and illustrious history and to emulate the excellent tradition of knowledge sharing and dissemination of the former journal, providing venue for sharing and discussion of problems and issues in the developing world. It considers theoretical and empirical articles that deal with the physical and human environments and developmental issues from geographical and interrelated disciplinary viewpoints. The journal welcomes contributions from geographers as well as other scholars from the humanities, social sciences and environmental sciences with a research interest in the developing world.
