Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-15 (PRU15): Analisis Bias Media Portal Berita dalam Talian di Malaysia
Abstract
Pilihan Raya umum ke-15 (PRU15) Malaysia merupakan pilihanraya umum pertama pasca pandemik COVID-19 yang memperlihatkan terdapat keadaan ketidakstabilan politik yang melanda negara pada ketika itu. Pada ketika ini, media berperanan penting dalam menyalurkan maklumat yang telus dan sahih kepada masyarakat. Pemerkasaan digital telah memperlihatkan media dalam talian menjadi satu platform yang menjadi tunjang untuk mendapatkan maklumat. Oleh itu, timbul persoalan adakah portal berita bebas utama Malaysia menyediakan liputan berita PRU15 mengikut ideologi organisasi berita atau menurut perspektif wartawan? Sehubungan itu, objektif utama dalam penyelidikan ini adalah untuk melihat kedudukan organisasi mengikut kecondongan bias dalam melaporkan berita PRU15. Penyelidikan ini menggunakan kaedah kajian analisis kandungan kuantitatif yang menggunakan sampel berita PRU15 daripada 12 platform berita dalam talian di Malaysia. Pengkodan artikel berita dijalankan dengan menggunakan 15 unit analisis menerusi borang kodan. Hasil kajian dalam bentuk indikator peta bias media yang boleh digunakan untuk memetakan kedudukan organisasi portal berita dalam negara ini yang berdimensikan media digital. Paparan arah media berat sebelah dan nilai kredibiliti jelas menunjukkan bahawa liputan berita yang dipaparkan oleh Utusan Malaysia Online berbanding agensi berita yang lain. Kajian ini diharap dapat menambah maklumat mengenai berita Malaysia yang sering diperkatakan dan akan menambah kepada penyelidikan liputan media pilihanraya Malaysia yang lepas.
