Remaja dan Media: Penyerlahan ‘Suara Remaja’ Berdasarkan Isu dan Penggunaan Bahasa
Abstract
Remaja kini sering menjadikan media sosial sebagai medan mengembangkan potensi diri. Saluran tersebut digunakan untuk menyuarakan pendapat mengenai pelbagai isu kontemporari dengan menggunakan bahasa mengikut cara dan gaya yang tersendiri. Apabila disoroti perkembangan kajian berkaitan remaja dan internet, khususnya kajian remaja dan media sosial, jelas sekali sudah banyak penyelidikan yang telah dijalankan. Namun begitu, kajian yang mengacu kepada isu yang diperkatakan remaja, cara bahasa tersebut digunakan dalam mengetengahkan sesuatu isu dan aspek sosial dan identiti yang berkaitan, sering dikaji secara terpisah sehingga menyebabkan kajian tentang remaja menjadi sangat terbatas. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan meneliti suara remaja dari aspek isu yang diperkatakan dan penggunaan bahasa yang menyerlahkan setiap isu yang diperkatakan di media sosial Facebook. Seramai 150 orang responden dalam kalangan remaja bersetuju menjadikan Facebook mereka sebagai data kajian menerusi Operasi Pengiklanan Maya. Proses pemerolehan data berasaskan analisis korpus dijalankan dengan mengekstrak sejumlah 50,000 hantaran dan komen balas Facebook melalui penggunaan kata kunci yang dipilih berasaskan prinsip kognitif. Proses penganalisisan data pula dibuat melalui proses pengkategorian dan pengesanan maklumat teks kata bersandarkan pendekatan prosodi semantik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat sekurang-kurangnya 10 tema yang begitu popular disuarakan oleh remaja di Facebook, dengan tiga (3) daripadanya ialah tema utama, iaitu tema perhubungan, ekonomi dan politik. Setiap tema telah memperlihatkan sisi diri remaja yang berani menyatakan pendirian, emosi, hasrat dan harapan mereka.
