Abstract


The application of precautionary principles on genetically modified organism has not been clearly stated in the Biosafety Act 2007. An Act which is protective in nature, it is imperative that precautionary principles plays an important role towards safeguarding the environment and health. Nonetheless, it is only being mentioned in the Preamble and in order to give more impact towards enforcement, there is a need to add an important element on burden of proof.
