Kesedaran Sensitiviti Moral Melalui Aktiviti Analisis Filem Pendek: Satu Kajian Tindakan di Kelas Pendidikan Moral (Moral sensitivity awareness through film analysis activities: An action research in a moral education class)

Abstract


Sensitiviti moral merupakan unsur yang menjadi tunjang kepada sesuatu perlakuan moral. Sensitiviti moral melibatkan proses mentafsir perasaan orang lain, kemahiran empati dan patuh kepada prinsip moral. Justeru artikel ini membincangkan hasil kajian tentang potensi aktiviti menonton dan analisis filem pendek sebagai kaedah pengajaran dalam mencungkil unsur sensitiviti moral dalam kalangan murid-murid sekolah menengah. Seramai 18 orang murid perempuan dan lelaki (tiga kumpulan berfokus) dari kelas Pendidikan Moral tingkatan empat digunakan untuk tujuan pengumpulan data. Teknik pensampelan bertujuan digunakan untuk memilih peserta kajian. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan reka bentuk kajian tindakan yang menggunakan kaedah temu bual, pemerhatian dan penulisan jurnal murid. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan aktiviti menonton dan analisis filem pendek dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran Pendidikan Moral mampu mencungkil sensitiviti moral dalam kalangan murid tingkatan empat. Mempunyai sensitiviti moral adalah satu nilai murni yang amat penting kepada seseorang murid dalam memupuk kesedaran tentang sesuatu isu moral dan keupayaan untuk mengambil pertimbangan wajar sebelum menyelesaikan sesuatu konflik.

Moral sensitivity is an important element that is the cornerstone of a moral act. Moral sensitivity involves the process of interpreting the feelings of others, understanding the impact of an issue and how it affects certain parties, empathy skills and role play in realizing a moral issue exists in a situation, and adhering to moral principles, rules or guidelines. Hence this article discusses the findings of the study on the potential of watching and analysing short films as a method of teaching in identifying the element of moral sensitivity among secondary school children. A total of 18 male and female Form Four students (three focus groups) were used for data collection purposes. Purposive sampling technique was used to select the study participants. This study uses a qualitative approach with action research design using interviews, observations and journal writing for the purpose of collecting data. Data analysis shows that watching and film analysis activities in the teaching and learning of Moral Education were able to unleash moral sensitivity and awareness among the participants. Having moral sensitivity is a very important moral value to a student in having awareness in a particular moral issue and having the ability to take rasional judgment before resolving any conflict.
