Abstract

ABSTRACT: Jenderam Hilir begins to be well known when a tin mining company found several artefacts during a mining work from 1977 to 1979. The artifact found along the river basin proves that there was a social development and society’s culture in the past. The study also reveals how those artefacts imply the availability of the socio culture development from Neolithic to metal age. Drawing to such findings, this study contends that this artifact can actually become a guide on determining the thinking level of the Jenderam community in the past. This is also to unravel whether all artefacts found were from outside or made in the same area. Should these artefacts were brought from outside, this means that the community of the past already have trade relationship with other supplier port such as the entrepot in Klang or Kedah. If artefacts found are proven to be made in the surrounding areas, this implies that there are certain technologies being applied with distinctive local wisdoms too. The study concludes that Jenderam Hilir in Selangor has undergone dramatic changes with a long and significances throughout history. This study employed library research as the main methodology in which all variables are explored from three main keywords namely Jenderam Hilir, Selangor, pre historic and archaeological artifact. Purpose of this study carried out is to reevaluate Jenderam Hilir site interest to be carried out review through excavation method.
